     John Batson was the son of Stephen Batson and Elizabeth (—?—) (Batson).1 He married Elizabeth Sanders, daughter of Lieut. John Sanders and Ann (—?—) (Sanders), in June 166-. He died in 1685 in Cape Porpus, York County, Maine.1
     
     John Batson of Cape Porpus was selectman 1679, constable 1680, and assemblyman 1682 and 1684. He had grist mill privileges with Isaac Cole and Samuel York in 1681. He owned half the sawmill and was found drowned under the mill wheel. An inquest was held 3 April 1685. Administration was granted in May 1685 to his widow Elizabeth.1
