     John Littlefield was baptized on 1 November 1624 in Titchfield, Hampshire, England, "Baptized John Littlefield the first day."2,1 He was the son of Edmond Littlefield and Annis Austin.1 He married Patience (—?—) circa 1650.3 He died on 9 February 1696/97 in Wells, York County, Maine, at age 72.1
     
     Capt. John Littlefield of Wells was a large land and mill owner who was publicly active almost to death.4
