     Annis Austin was baptized on 1 February 1596/97 in Titchfield, Hampshire, England, "Februarie. Baptized Agnice awstine the first daye."3,1,2 She was the daughter of Richard Austin and Annis (—?—) (Austin).2 She married Edmond Littlefield, son of Francis Littlefield and Mary (—?—) (Littlefield), on 16 October 1614 in Titchfield, Hampshire, "October. Married Edmund littlefeild and Agnes Austen the xvjth day."4,1

In May 1638 Annis Austin, age 38, her six youngest children, and two servants, John Knight, a carpenter, and Hugh Durdal, set sail from Southampton on the Bevis, 150 tons, Robert Batten, master, bound for New England. Also taking passage on the Bevis was Annis' brother Richard Austin, tailor of Bishopstoke, age 40, his wife, two children, and a servant, Robert Knight, a carpenter.7,8 Edmond and the two oldest boys were already in New England. The family reunited in Boston, within a few months followed John Wheelwright to Exeter, and in 1641 removed to Wells.9

Annis Littlefield made her will on 12 December 1677 mentioning Hannah Cloyce, Elizabeth Wakefield, Mary Barrett and Merribah Littlefield, sons John Littlefield, Thomas Littlefield and Peter Cloyes and her granddaughter Elizabeth Wakefield, daughter of Elizabeth. Merribah was the widow of her youngest son, Francis, and Peter Cloyce was the husband of her daughter Hannah.11 Click to view image
