Samuel Butterfield was born on 17 May 1647 in Woburn, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.1,2 He was the son of Benjamin Butterfield and Ann or Anna (—?—) (Butterfield).1 He married Mary (—?—).1 He died on 30 July 1714 in Chelmsford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, at age 67.1,3 His will was probated on 1 July 1715.1
His will, signed 26 April 1703, "Samuel Buterfeld, his mark," was written by Eliezer Browne, one of the witnesses. In it, he mentions his sons Samuel and Jonathan, and his daughters Mercy, Ann, Phebe and Deborah.1
