Frances Tinnen was born on 22 January 1769.2 On 15 May 1786, Joseph Armstrong took out a marriage bond from the clerk of the court in Orange County, North Carolina, as surety that there was no legal obstacle to the proposed marriage between he and Frances Tinnen.1 She married Joseph Armstrong, son of John Armstrong and Anne (—?—) (Armstrong), on 18 May 1786.2 She died on 1 November 1845 at age 76.2
