     Mary Claud Munson was born on 8 June 1867 at Bailey's Prairie, Brazoria County, Texas.1 She was the daughter of George Poindexter Munson and Matilda Agnes Davis. She died circa 1872 at Oakland Plantation, Gulf Prairie, at about age five.1 She was buried in the Munson Cemetery, Bailey's Prairie.2 Click to view image
     
     Apparently she was called Claud (the spelling as it appears in her mother's bible). She was almost certainly named for her mother's brother, Claudious B. Davis (Leo), who had drowned at Sabine Pass while in the Confederate service.
