     Joseph Farrar was born on 10 October 1716 in Concord, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.2 He was the son of Joseph Farrar and Mary (—?—) (Farrar). Marriage intention for Joseph Farrar and Deborah Richardson was published on 7 March 1742/43 in Chelmsford.3 He died of "numb palsey" on 20 April 1797 in Chelmsford at age 80.4 He was buried on 22 April 1797 in Forefather's Burying Ground, Chelmsford Center.5
     
     His uncle, Nathan Brown, was appointed his guardian, 13 August 1733. He was mentioned in his grandfather George Farrar's will dated 17 March 1749, and proved 9 June 1760.6
