George Harris Brooks was born on 28 February 1876.1 He married Lou Underwood Horne, daughter of Captain Henry W. Horne and Laura Euphemia Hanks, on 7 June 1905 in Chatham County, North Carolina.2,3 He died on 10 July 1937 at age 61.1 He was buried in Pittsboro United Methodist Church Cemetery, Pittsboro, Chatham County.1
George Brooks was an uncle, by marriage, of Louise Underwood Munson. Upon the birth of Louise's oldest child George, he sent congratulatory postcards to Louise's brother John, and her mother Lou Underwood.
