     Samuel Stowell was born on 18 May 1655 in Hingham, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.3 He was the son of Samuel Stowell and Mary Farrow.2,1 He was baptized on 8 July 1655 in Hingham.1,4 He married Rachel Gill, daughter of Thomas Gill and Hannah Otis, on 12 January 1684/85 in Hingham.1,5 He died on 21 September 1695 in Hingham at age 40.1,6
     
     Samuel and Rachel Stowell lived on Fort Hill St.1

Samuel Stowell was named in his father Samuel Stowell's will dated 27 October 1683: "my eldest son Samuel to have a double share." He was appointed Administrator of his father's will, his mother Mary and brother David also being appointed.7,8

Letters of administration were granted to his widow on 16 July 1696.1,3 The inventory of the estate of Samuel Stowell was appraised at Inventory was taken and appraised at £196 12s. by Joshua Beal and Thomas Gill.1 Articles of Agreement were made on 31 January 1715/16 between the children of Samuel Stowell late of Hingham, deceased, and Rachel his wife, relative to the distribution of property, viz; Samuel, William, Rachel and Hannah.9
