     Jonathan Richardson was born on 8 October 1667 in Chelmsford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.1 He was the son of Josiah Richardson and Remembrance Underwood.1 He married Elizabeth Bates, daughter of John Bates and Mary Farwell, on 8 November 1692 in Chelmsford.2 He married Mrs. Elizabeth Bunker Howard of Newton, a widow, on 18 May 1724 in Charlestown, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.2 He died on 18 February 1753 in Chelmsford at age 85.3 He was buried on 21 February 1753 in Chelmsford. His will was proved on 9 April 1753; inventory £744 : 17 : 0 in "lawful money."4,5
     
     On 12 March 1696, the widow and children of Josiah Richardson, who died intestate 22 July 1695, entered an agreement for the division of the estate by which "The four sons of said Captain Richardson, namely Josiah, Jonathan, John and Samuell," divided the upland and meadows. He was named sole executor in his father-in-law John Bates' will dated 18 July 1716.6 His will is dated 12 September 1750. He named as the executor his son-in-law Reverend Thomas Parker.4,5
