     Samuel Edsel Thurber was born on 27 November 1843 in Indiana.1 He was the son of Benjamin Wilson Hall Thurber and Mary Persis King.1 He died on 14 February 1863 in Murfreesboro, Rutherford County, Tennessee, at age 19.1
