     John Fairfield V was born between 1728 and 1730.1 He was the son of Capt. John Fairfield IV and Mary Emery.2,3 He married Mary Burbank, daughter of Lieut. John Burbank and Priscilla Major, on 17 October 1751 in Bradford, Essex County, Massachusetts.4
     
     John Fairfield V was a millman. In 1757 he served in the company commanded by his father in Col. Pepperell's regiment, and in 1762 was ensign in Capt. Thomas Perkins' Arundel Company. He was made a proprietor of Arundel (Kennebunkport) in 1780. Before the Revolution he lived on a farm near Grant Lodge and Goose Rocks, but left it during the Revolution.1
