     James Littlefield was born on 2 October 1657 in Wells, York County, Maine.1 He was the son of Francis Littlefield Sr. and Rebecca (—?—) (Littlefield).1 He married Katherine Heard, daughter of Ensign James Heard and Shuah (—?—) (Heard-Otis).2 He was killed by Indians in May 1690 at age 32.2
     
     Administration was granted to his widow Katherine and her second husband John Wooden on 24 February 1690/91.2
