     Richard Austin was born circa 1598 in Titchfield, Hampshire, England.1 He was the son of Richard Austin and Annis (—?—) (Austin).1 He married Elizabeth (—?—) say 1623.1 He died in 1638 in Watertown, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.1

Richard Austin, tailor of Bishopstoke, age 40, his wife and two children, and a servant, Robert Knight, a carpenter, took passage on the Bevis out of Southampton that sailed for New England in May 1638. Also among the passengers on the Bevis was his sister Annis Austin and her six youngest children.4,5
