     Rebecca Smith was born on 12 October 1724.1 She was the daughter of Capt. Daniel Smith and Rebecca Emery.1 Marriage intention of Rebecca Smith and Dominicus Scammon, both of Biddeford, was published 13 June 1741 at Biddeford, York County, Maine.2 She married Dominicus Scammon, son of Capt. Humphrey Scammon and Elizabeth Jordan, in 1741.1 She died in 1745.1
     
     Rebecca and Dominicus Scammon lived on the Ferry Road in Saco, York County, Maine. They both died of the malignant fever (typhus) contracted by some of those who returned from the Cape Breton expedition against Louisburg during King George's War, and of which Dominicus' brothers Nathaniel Scammon and Benjamin Scammon, who were there, died the same year.3
