     Abraham Baughman was born in 1749/50 in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.3 He was the son of Henry Bachman and Elizabeth (—?—) (Bachman).2 He married Mary Katharine Deeds circa 1773.4 He died in January 1827 in Richland County, Ohio.5
     
     Although there are many stories of Abraham having been born during the Atlantic Ocean voyage to America, it is known that his parents were in Pennsylvania by 1727. The stories likely refer to his father. After marrying, he removed to Washington County, Pennsylvania, and later to Richland County, Ohio, where he settled in Monroe township in 1811.6
