Family Background:
Underwood and Allied Families
Hannah A. Patterson was born circa 1808 in New York.2,3 She was the daughter of John Patterson.1 She married NN McDaniel circa 1830.1,4

Hannah moved with her family to Indiana Territory between 1807 and 1812, and was perhaps born en route. There is no record of her or her husband ever having lived in Catahoula Parish, Louisiana, though she probably moved there with other members of her family about 1818. A marriage record has not been located, but both her known children were born in Mississippi. She was apparently a widow in 1850 as she, her two daughters, a son-in-law and a grandson were living in West Feliciana Parish with her brother Joseph. She was still in West Feliciana in 1870, living in St. Francisville in the household of her oldest daughter. In 1870 and 1880, she, her oldest daughter and grandchildren were living in New Orleans.
