     William Morris was born on 5 March 1739 in Hilltown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania.1,2,3 He was the son of Morris Morris and Gwently Thomas.1 He married Ann Griffith, daughter of Nathaniel Griffith, on 28 April 1762 (license date).4,2,5 He died on 22 April 1821 in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, at age 82.3,6
     
     Reverend Joseph Mathias wrote in his journal in 1831:
William Morris owned the property now in possession of Philip Swartley in Newbritain, he lived there many years. He at length sold his plantation; purchased in Chester County and removed there about the year 1794. There he lived for several years, until his children all got married & scattered about. He and his wife returned to Bucks County, being old and feeble, he was also affected with a paralytic stroke, which impaired his speech considerably, and reduced his strength He died at his son's Isaac Morris's April 22, 1821 aged near 80 years) His wife had been very feeble for some time; and continued sinking until the 17th of July 1821 when she died. Aged near 80 years.6
