Sarah James was born on 13 February 1710/11. She of Radnor, married Reverend John Thomas, son of Reverend William Thomas and Ann Griffith, on 18 February 1736/37 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County.1,2,3 She died on 2 April 1805 in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, at age 94.4 She was buried in Lower Hilltown Baptist Church Cemetery.

When Hilltown Baptist was constituted as a separate church from Montgomery Baptist on 10 November 1781, Sarah Thomas was one of fifty-four members dismissed to Hilltown.
