     Martha Cobb was born circa 1765.3 She was the daughter of Captain Stephen Cobb and Patience (—?—) (Cobb).1 She married first William Hackney, son of William Hackney and Martha Weeks, circa 1786.1 Martha Cobb, widow of William Hackney, married second Joseph Clement Richardson, son of William Richardson and Mildred Robertson; marriage bond dated 30 May 1798 in Johnston County, North Carolina.1 She died on 4 October 1835 in Johnston County, North Carolina.1
