Bertha Fairfield
     Bertha E. Fairfield was born on 14 November 1867 in Fort Wayne, Allen County, Indiana.2,3 She was the daughter of James Monroe Fairfield and Jane Elizabeth Thurber.1 She married first Charles G. Barthold on 4 April 1888 at Fort Wayne, Allen County, Indiana.4 She married second John J. Scheurer on 14 March 1894 at Stockton, San Joaquin County, California.5,6,7 She died on 20 October 1957 in San Joaquin County, California, at age 89.2
     
     Bertha and Charles Barthold moved in 1888 to Stockton, San Joaquin County, California, where Charles worked as an electrician.7
