     Juliana Catharina Gramlich was born on 6 January 1844 in Cessna township, Hardin County, Ohio.1,2 She was the daughter of Johann Friederich Gramlich and Friederike Juliana Foit. She married Jacob D. Bateson circa 1869. She died on 20 September 1933 in Fayette, Fulton County, Ohio, at age 89.2 She was buried in Dunkirk Cemetery, Washington township, Hardin County, Ohio.3
     
     Juliana Catharina Gramlich was called Julia Ann, though there was probably never a legal name change. She and Jacob Bateson lived on a farm about five miles northwest of Kenton. After retirement, they moved to Dunkirk where Jacob died.4 Julia then moved to Fayette, Ohio, near where her daughter Callie lived.4
