     Maria Catharina Gramlich was born on 26 June 1853 in Cessna township, Hardin County, Ohio.1,2,3 She was the daughter of Johann Friederich Gramlich and Friederike Juliana Foit. She married William Christian Ries, son of Christian Ries and Margaret Lautenschlager, on 11 November 1880 in Hardin County, Ohio.2,4 She died on 28 August 1915 in Kenton, Hardin County, at age 62.2,3 She was buried on 30 August 1915 in Grove Cemetery, Kenton.2
