     Johann Foit was born on 18 December 1822 in Jagsthausen, Württemberg.1 He was the son of Georg Friederich Foit and Maria Katharina Horlacher.1 He married first Margaret Troutman circa 1844.1 He married second Peggy Lanagan on 19 December 1845.2 He married third Rebecca Yerria.1 He married fourth Mary M. Smith on 2 May 1857.2 He married fifth Hannah Harvey, a widow who outlived him, on 25 June 1885.2 He died in 1903 in Hardin County, Ohio.1
