     Zachariah Richardson was born in February 1695/96 in Chelmsford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.1,4 He was the son of Lieut. Josiah Richardson and Mercy Parish.2,3 He married Sarah Butterfield, daughter of Benjamin Butterfield and Sarah Bates, circa 1718. He died on 22 March 1776 at age 80.1 He was buried on 23 March 1776 in Forefather's Burying Ground, Chelmsford Center.5
     
     In his will, dated 21 March 1776, the day before he died, he styles himself "gentleman," and gives to wife, Sarah Richardson the free use and improvement of all his household goods, furniture, and live stock during her natural life, and directs that whatever may remain after her death be "divided equally between all my daughters, or their heirs." He also makes a bequest to his grandson, Paul Richardson (son of his son Josiah).6
