     Sarah Butterfield was born on 23 September 1701 in Chelmsford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.1 She was the daughter of Benjamin Butterfield and Sarah Bates.2 She married Zachariah Richardson, son of Lieut. Josiah Richardson and Mercy Parish, circa 1718. She died on 11 August 1788 in Chelmsford at age 86.3 She was buried in Forefather's Burying Ground.3
     
     Sarah Richardson was named in her husband Zachariah Richardson's will dated 21 March 1776. She was given the free use and improvement of all his household goods, furniture, and live stock during her natural life.4
