Great-grandaunt of Ruth Minerva Fairfield.
3rd great-grandaunt of Laura Jane Munson.
Family Background:
Fairfield and Allied Families
Miranda Fairfield was born on 5 November 1800.2,1,3 She was the daughter of William Fairfield and Mary King.1 She was baptized on 31 May 1801 in Church of Christ, Arundel, York County, Maine.4 She married Adam Stone, son of Jonathan Stone and Margaret McCulloch, on 4 May 1820.5,6 She died on 27 June 1878 at age 77.3

Adam and Miranda probably had at least two children, an assumption based on there being one male child in Adam's household in 1830 (see below), and the probability that Mary E. Stone, 19, found in the 1850 census in the household of Stephen and Miranda Perkins in Kennebunkport, was their daughter. Click to view image

However, the family information contained therein was carefully copied by Laura (Munson) Cooper some years prior to that time. The handwriting was imitated and the formatting preserved in the copy, and it is still in the possession of the writer. Unfortunately, the publication data was not understood at the time the copy was made to be important, so that is lost forever. Hereinafter cited as Fairfield Bible.
